How the Unattended System Prevents Fraud

I. Permission Management

Strict permission controls are implemented to centrally manage access to the weighing software system's data and the execution rights of functional points. The software manages users and their permissions according to client needs, enabling hierarchical user permission management and defining operational rights for each user level to prevent overstepping of authority. Additionally, the software maintains comprehensive operation logs, recording all user actions to ensure accountability.

II. Anti-Fraud Devices

Infrared sensors and barrier gate equipment are installed to ensure the vehicle is completely on the scale and that the scale data is stable, primarily mitigating the risk of fraud caused by vehicles not fully on the scale or consecutive vehicles weighing in. The infrared positioning system prevents inaccurate weight data due to incomplete positioning during weighing. The system automatically logs operations to enable automatic tracking of critical processes.

III. Real-Time Monitoring Function

The software features robust video monitoring and camera capture capabilities, providing full-process surveillance from vehicle entry into the facility, during transit, and throughout weighing. During weighing, video monitoring automatically captures images linked to the weigh ticket. It enables real-time monitoring of the weighing process, license plate photo retention for each vehicle, strong support for data traceability, and monitoring from front, rear, and top angles to prevent mixed cargo during weighing.

Currently, common weighing software functions mainly include vehicle weighing, document printing, and weight data querying, lacking the ability to prevent or address vulnerabilities or internal/external fraud during operations.

Actual measurement processes may often encounter the following issues:

1. Collusion between drivers and weighbridge operators, where the operator does not record the weighing data after the vehicle is on the scale, preventing data storage and management oversight.

2. Two or more vehicles in a fleet swapping license plates; after weighing tare weight, a large and small vehicle or heavy and light vehicle exchange plates, with the small vehicle using the large vehicle's plate to haul cargo out, while the large vehicle leaves empty. During the small vehicle's weighing, the increased tare weight is compensated by the cargo weight, causing losses to the enterprise.

4. Vehicles not fully on the scale during weighing; as weighbridge operators are indoors, their limited visibility may prevent timely detection of incomplete positioning.

5. Cargo substitution during transit, passing off inferior goods as high-quality ones.

6. Vehicles leaving the scale after weighing, circling the site, and repeating the weighing process.

7. Substituting cargo types during loading or unloading to profit from price differences between goods. This is particularly common with mineral products.

8. Fraudulently claiming goods by impersonating clients to extract cargo. For bulk mineral products, poor communication or lax management between consignors and consignees can lead to unnoticed loss of several vehicle loads.

9. Tare weight fraud; adding heavy objects before weighing tare weight and discarding them later to reduce net cargo weight.

The above fraudulent practices are currently widespread. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or supply and sales systems only offer basic weighing functions, lacking anti-fraud technical measures and considerations, resulting in significant losses for enterprises.

To address these issues, our company's unattended weighing software can be used to prevent leaks and堵塞 gaps.:

1. Infrared light barriers effectively ensure vehicles are fully on the scale; if not fully positioned, the system does not save data.

2. Real-time image data monitoring function:

Weighbridge operators can monitor the weighing site in real-time via cameras installed around the scale platform. When saving weight data, contemporaneous site images are also stored. During subsequent weighings, photos from the first weighing can be retrieved for comparison, enabling supervision of vehicles and drivers to prevent fraudulent practices.

3. The license plate recognition system automatically identifies plate numbers, and weighing data is automatically saved. Non-administrators cannot modify data.

4. Remote Query

The accompanying network query terminal can connect various weighbridge rooms and management offices via LAN. Once networked, weighing data sharing is enabled, allowing managers to synchronously monitor data and images from all weighbridge rooms from their offices.

Our company specializes in installing unattended weighing systems, supporting customization and secondary development.
